Home Staging for a Professionally Decorated House?
My Los Angeles home is professionally decorated, why should I have someone home staging?
Why Stage a Seller Worthy Decorated Home in Los Angeles, well Because there’s a huge difference between interior decorating and staging.
Interior decorating is done to showcase the occupant’s taste and lifestyle.
Home staging is done to create appeal to the widest possible pool of buyers. Stagers strive to create a warm inviting feeling and attractive “neutrality” against which a potential buyer can visualize their own possessions – and their own lifestyle.
Part of the home staging process is the removal of personal items and even works of art that take the focus away from the house. You as a seller really don’t want your potential buyers examining your photos, trophies, awards, or collections when they should be noticing how the house exactly suits their wants and needs. Neither do you want them admiring your taste in art.
Buyers who are distracted in this manner can pass up a house they’d love, simply because they didn’t “see” all the features and benefits. At the same time, buyers who don’t share your taste might pass up your home because the decorating doesn’t appeal to them.
In addition, stagers know how to place focus on a home’s most appealing or useful features and benefits, while showing potential buyers the possible uses for each space.
The bottom line: Just because your Los Angeles home has been professionally decorated doesn’t mean it won’t benefit from a stager’s touch.
