The process of selling your Los Angeles house can turn into a tedious task. You’ve made a lot of great memories in your house, spent plenty of time decorating and painting, but it’s time for a new chapter in your life.
When selling a house, there are some tips and tricks you can use to make the most out of the sale.
If you’re a first time home seller, then this article will be right up your alley.
Avoid These 4 Mistakes when Selling Your Los Angeles House
1. Not having a home inspection performed
Hiring a home inspector is the first thing you should do before putting your Los Angeles house on the market.
That is especially important if your home is not recently built. Even if your house is new, you should do a home inspection. It may find problems that you weren’t aware of.
If the home inspection reveals any issues, then you’ll know what you have to address.
Most home buyers will hire their own home inspector. Even so, you’ll make a good impression if the inspection won’t reveal anything that they should be suspicious about.
2. Displaying pictures of your family
You know what they say: Out of sight, out of mind.
Home buyers don’t want to see family pictures in the living room or the bedroom. What they need is to be able to imagine what it would be like for them to live there.
The emotional attachment has to be even bigger when we’re talking about houses.
You want the potential buyer to feel like they’ve entered a space they can personalize however they’d like. They need to feel like they will belong there.
3. Not selling your Los Angeles House for the right price
There are two possibilities here: Either you’ll set the price too high, or too low.
If the price is too low, then potential buyers will probably suspect that there’s something wrong with the house. After all, we’re talking about LA here.
If the price is too high, nobody will even show up to see your house.
Either way, you have to find a balance. That’s something I can help you out with.
4. Not having a neat yard
What’s the first thing home buyers will see when they approach your house?
In those first few seconds, people will make an assumption based on how your yard looks like. Wow them by maintaining your lawn, adding some colorful flowers and pulling the weeds.
The smallest details when it comes to your yard can make the biggest difference.
