With acres of land and no expense spared on the details and decor, movie star homes really are the pinnacle of luxury.
When you’re commanding millions of dollars for your latest movie project, splashing out on the most desirable real estate is an obvious choice for many stars.
But which celebrity homes have the biggest price tags? Let us reveal all….
The Most Expensive Movie Star Homes
From mansions in Beverly Hills and Bel Air to sprawling countryside properties, the rich and famous have their pick of the most luxurious real estate on the market.
Here are the five most expensive movie star real estate purchases:
1. Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt – $60 Million
Since Angelina filed for divorce, Chateau Miraval may not be the Jolie-Pitt family home anymore, but it will undoubtedly go down in history as one of the most expensive movie star homes ever.
The couple reportedly paid $60 million for the property in 2011, which spans 100 acres.
The estate in the Provence region of France includes a moat, two helicopter pads, a spa and a vineyard that produces an award-winning rosé wine.
And, despite rumors to the contrary, the former couple’s business partner Marc Perrin insists that the chateau is not for sale.
2. Jennifer Lopez – $28 Million
Jennifer Lopez is no stranger to expensive homes, having bought multi-million dollar properties in the Hamptons, LA and New York.
But the actress, singer and TV personality added a $28 million Bel Air mansion to her property portfolio earlier this year.
The compound was originally listed for $39 million, but the previous owner, actress Sela Ward, is reported to have agreed to the lower fee.
The lavish estate includes a 100-seat outdoor amphitheater as well as a 30-seat indoor theater, a stream, and a vineyard.
3. Angelina Jolie – $25 Million
Since she’s vacated the home she shared with Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie makes another appearance on our list of expensive movie star homes with her most recent property purchase.
Angelina is reported to have agreed to a price of $25 million for the former home of Cecile B. DeMille.
And, the historic property in the Hidden Hills area of LA even has enough rooms for Angelina’s six children as well as 10 bathrooms, pool, fitness room, and courtyard.
4. Jennifer Aniston and Justin Theroux – $22 Million
The couple purchased their Bel Air property in 2013 for a reported $22 million, around $3 million less than the original asking price.
The property spans three acres and includes a pool, four bedrooms, six bathrooms, and is surrounded by vineyards.
Plus, with views of the ocean and the city as well as absolute privacy, the location is perfect for the high-profile pair.
5. Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith – $20 Million
The actor and rapper built this mansion in Calabasas, California with his long-term wife over a period of seven years after they originally purchased it in 2003 for a reported $20 million.
Resting on 150 acres of land, the property has its own basketball court, a lake, and…even its own zip code!
The couple has repeatedly denied rumors that they want to sell the home, although it’s thought to now be worth at least $42 million.
