The Latest in Home Decor Trends Without The High Price…
Whether you’re getting your Los Angeles house ready for sale or decorating the home you just purchased, it’s tempting to go with the latest colors and home decor.
But… there is a danger.
Some of those trends only last a short while – fine for people with mega-bucks who can afford to then switch to the next “latest and greatest,” but perhaps not for people with budgets to maintain.
In addition, some of them that seem like a good home decor idea at the time don’t seem so good after a few months.
One of the hottest trends this year is plaid. And not just the traditional plaids we’re used to seeing in say, a flannel shirt. These plaids are big and bold – and in some cases, “noisy.”
This article in Realty http://realtytimes.com/consumeradvice/homeownersadvice1/item/38705-20150928-the-one-thing-you-need-right-now-plaid shows examples that might appeal to some – and would send others running for cover.
So – we don’t recommend papering an entire wall in plaid, nor installing plaid carpeting. If you love it and know you’ll continue to love it, go ahead and buy the couch, because you can take it with you.
Otherwise, invest in some less expensive touches. I’ve seen plaid in:
Tablecloths and placemats
Sofa pillows and throws
You’ll offer a feel of “trendy and new” home decor without breaking the bank – and without feeling that you have to live with the look for years because you spent so much to create it.
